Yes - M.D. Complete will run on WIndows Vista, Windows XP, or Windows 2000. As with most installations, you will need to be an Administrator to install M.D. Complete. After installation, M.D. Complete will run as an Administrator or as a standard user.
M.D. Complete is designed to run stand-alone on an individual PC or on a network. For network installations, you can install MDC on a corporate server and run from client computers or you can install using only client computers. An actual server is not required.
Most office installations involve 2 or 3 computers connected via a local area network. In this configuration one of the computers would act like a server for the other systems. All system can be connected and running MDC at the same time utilizing the same database.
There is virtually no limit to the number of patients or claims that can be supported. But if you need to know, the number is 8,589,934,591

You can import all data from previous version of M.D. Complete. If you have another system we can assist you in importing your data. Often we can easily get your patient and payer list into the M.D. Complete database.
Any printer that Windows can install is usable with M.D. Complete.
Yes - M.D. Complete has an HL7 interface for any product that supports HL7. HL7 is an industry standard for transmission of medical data across a network.
Yes, however the M.D. Complete installation program will do this for you automatically. When the installation program begins it will check for the existence of SQL Server Express. If it is not installed on your computer then it will install it directly from Microsoft.
SQL Server Express is a free download from Microsoft.
On some occassions, SQL Express does not automatically install. If you receive an error when you create your first database then the probable cause is that SQL Express was not installed. You will need to go to the Microsoft Web site and install SQL Server Express.

REPORTS
You can run the following reports:
- Transactions List - This is a customizable report of all transactions entered into M.D. Complete. This report can be filtered and customized for various date ranges as well as filtering for specific payers, providers, patients, facilities, and procedures.
- Daily Summary Sheet - This report is a summary of the current days charges and payments.
- Patient Aging Reports - This report gives aging balances for all patients. Aging is typically based on 30 day time increments however options exist to show aging on even month to month boundaries.
- Payer Aging Reports - Similar to the patient aging report, this report shows aging for Insurance payers.
- Procedure Usage Reports - This report yields summary and detailed analysis of each procedure code, usage and percentage paid. The report can be filtered by payer, patient, or code.
- Patient Diagnosis History - This report displays the history of a patients' diagnosis as entered on claims.
- Unapplied Payments Report - This is a report of all payments that are not specifically applied to a patients account.
- Filed Claims Report - This is a report of all claims that have been filed for a specific period. Electronic or Paper.
- Printing Activities Report - This is a report of all patient statements and invoices that have been printed for a specific period.

Yes. Reports can be customized by adding or removing columns that you are not interested in. These settings are automatically stored and recalled the next time the report is loaded. All reports that are customized from the Transaction list can also be saved to retain additional filtering of date ranges, patient, payers, and transaction report. For example you could create a report that shows the total and detail of all claims that were created for Medicare in the previous month. You can save this report and recall it at any time.return to top
CLAIMS PROCESSING
Yes. M.D. Complete prepares electronic claims using the ANSI-837 file standard. You have multiple options for filing claims electronically. You can file directly to Medicare or you can file with a clearinghouse. If filing with a clearinghouse you can have M.D. Complete send claim information directly to the clearinghouse - while at the same time receiving remit, acknowledgments, and reports from the clearinghouse from previously submitted claims.return to top
Select the Edit Menu - Preference - HCFA Settings. In the upper left corner you'll need to enter nudge parameters to nudge the text up/down or left/right. These numbers are in units of inches.
Horizontal Nudging
Enter a positive number to move the text to the right.
Enter a negative number to move the text to the left.
Vertical Nudging
Enter a positive number to move the text down
Enter a negative number to move the text up.
You can darken the font by changing the font weight parameter.
When using the Test button from the Edit – Preferences screen, make sure you click the Apply button after you enter new nudge parameters. Then click the Test button.return to top
By default the NPI will now print on all claim forms. However you can control what data appears in each box by selecting the Payer and clicking on the Filing Setup Tab. You can specify the correct information for each of the configurable boxes for NPI and/or legacy numbers.

POSTING PAYMENTS
Yes. M.D. Complete automatically posts payments and adjustment using electronic remittance files. These files are typically received from your clearinghouse or payers. When using a clearinghouse, M.D. Complete can automatically scan for newly received remittance files and alert you of new payments to post.
You also have the ability to regenerate a paper EOB of the remittance file.return to top
Yes. All payments and adjustments are applied to specific line items on each claim. You also have the option to apply a blanket payment towards a patients account. For example if a patient makes a $100 payment towards their account, you have the option to manually split the payment towards individual items or it can be automatically distributed towards unpaid services.return to top
